U.S. Citizens Run for Border for Med Care

Sign of the times, according to a study by the University of California-LA Center for Health Policy Research approximately 1 million U.S. citizens are traveling to Mexico for dental, medical or prescription drugs annually and this study just looked a California residents.
The difference between U.S. and Mexico medical care is cost (go figure). Many U.S. physicians trained at Mexicans med schools or vice versa, with similar protocols and standards or practice. Clinics in Mexican border town are responding to the influx of U.S. citizens who seek affordable care now offer everything from regular dental care to cosmetic, weight loss surgeries or other major procedures.
One physicians states he sees 15 patients per week from the U.S., who seek care for bronchitis, pneumonia or stomach problems. In addition he also treats things like broken bones.
I remember seeing a report about this years ago, but I had no idea the numbers are so large. That report seemed to have a bent toward would you travel to Mexico to receive inferior care by inferior doctors. But I guess this report suggest that capitalism does rule. And that people do speak with the feet (or in this case their cars).
