Portrait on the Mantel

Welcome to Portrait on the Mantel (POTM) Where Families come Together.
If you don’t know where the name originates I’ll give you the 411. POTM was created by my son while brainstorming about the idea of family. What do you think of when you hear Portrait on the Mantel? I think of a family picture over the fire place. And how the only time many people get to see their families is that portrait.
POTM is an offspring of Council for Family Health Education (CFHE) a non-profit tax exempt educational corporation. CFHE’s goal is to move family time from the Portrait to interactive activites where learning can occur.
From its inception POTM providedNews and Educational commentary on some of the latest stories in health and wellness as they relate to families. We sought to educate and provide more insight into stories you might hear reported from other media sources.
We will continue to bring you commentaries on health education from a family’s perspective and we will expand our coverage of ideas and topics to cover some broader issues that face families today. Issues such as economic, spiritual, mental and interpersonal health in addition to physical health.
We’re expanding our commentaries because today families face a variety of issues and time management is certainly a delimma. One unarguable truth, so much of physical health is related to economics, spirituality, mental fitness and how we’re coping with the world around. Therefore it seems irresponsible to comment on one without paying equal attention to the others.
This new blog set up will take me some time to master so watch it develop.
